Nissan Motability Scheme

To assist motorists with a disability in staying mobile, the government-funded Motability Scheme has been providing financial support for over 30 years ago. Am I eligible for Motability?

The Motability Scheme is a UK-registered charity that is open to anyone in receipt of either the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement. Even parents can apply on behalf of a child who is in receipt of the benefit, while those unable to drive can nominate up to two drivers.

After identifying the vehicles that are available to purchase, you will be able to exchange part – or all – of your mobility supplement in exchange for a car on either Contract Hire or Hire Purchase.

Contract Hire, the most popular option for a Motability vehicle, includes a number of benefits. A three-year agreement, it also includes road tax, insurance, aftersales services and breakdown cover. Hire Purchase, meanwhile, does not feature these benefits, but means you purchase the vehicle outright and can modify it according to your needs.
