Motability Scheme
The government-funded Motability Scheme is a UK-registered charity that supports motorists with a disability and provides them with a means to stay mobile. By exchanging all – or part – of your mobility supplement, you will be able to purchase a high-quality new vehicle from an authorised Motability dealership.

Am I eligible for Motability?
To take advantage of the Motability Scheme, you must be in receipt of either the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement. You may also apply on behalf of a child who is in receipt of the benefit and, for those not able to drive, you can nominate up to two drivers on your behalf.
Motability purchase plans
There are currently two purchase plans available for the Motability Scheme: Contract Hire and Hire Purchase.
Contract Hire is the most popular option for Motability customers, enabling you to rent a new vehicle. It is an agreement of three years and features a mileage limit of 60,000 miles. It has a host of benefits, with tax, insurance, aftersales services and breakdown cover all included in the cost.
Unlike Contract Hire, Hire Purchase has no fixed mileage and means that you purchase your car outright. You will therefore be able to make any modifications you so wish. However, Hire Purchase does not include tax, insurance, aftersales services and breakdown cover.
